Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll has asserted he is “relentless” in his pursuit to beat rival F1 teams to championship success.
Stroll took over the team formerly known as Force India midway through 2018 before rebranding to Aston Martin at the start of 2021.
However, the team is yet to win a grand prix since being renamed, but enjoyed a successful 2023 campaign during which Fernando Alonso scored eight podiums.
The team has been heavily investing in its future, establishing a new factory at Silverstone it looks to become a leading contender on the F1 grid in the coming years.
Stroll asserted his commitment to boost the facilities is a clear indicator of his vision to bring the team to new heights.
“When I took over this team, it's about six years ago now, I said it would be a 10-year journey to winning an F1 world championship,” Stroll said.
“We’re now witnessing the premises that we've built in order to provide the tools.
“There’s no other factory like this in any other F1 team. There's no other wind tunnel like it. There's no other driver simulator like it.
“The whole campus just has that feeling of winning, of performance, of people striving to find that extra tenth or hundredth of a second.”
Stroll also highlighted other major pieces he has put in place, including the signing of Adrian Newey to lead its technical team and establishing a partnership with Honda, which will come into effect next year.
With a major regulation change coming into play in 2026, Stroll is eyeing the new era as an opportunity to take a leap up the pecking order.
“So first is putting together the facilities, [but] also important was putting together the team of people,” he said.
“Obviously, getting Adrian [Newey] to join was monumental. He’s been with us since the beginning of March, Andy Cowell, our CEO, Enrico [Cardile], our technical director, plus about 950 other people.
“The whole team is forming into place and we're looking forward to next year to a huge rules and regulations change.
“Another huge step, we have Honda being our power unit partner, being a works team for the first time in our life.
“It’s a whole different experience, designing an engine that's mated together with a power unit as one, rather than being a customer and just delivered an engine.
“So a tremendous amount of excitement is happening. I'm relentless. I don't give up until the mission is completed. In this case, the mission is being world champions.”
