It is not often that an employee of a team takes to the public channels to express how impressed they are with something.
Yet that is exactly what Neil Zambardi-Christie has done about the Aston Martin AMR26, designed and developed by Adrian Newey and his team.
"The Aston Martin AMR26 - my 25th F1 car, but my first Adrian Newey car," Zambardi-Christie, a clearly experienced factory employee at Aston Martin and an F1 veteran, wrote on LinkedIn.
"There have been some great cars over the years (and some shocking ones), but this one is of a whole other level.
"The design and attention to detail are incredible, but what is even more impressive is the way the entire team has risen to the challenges of design and planning."
After 19 years with Red Bull, Newey joined Aston Martin in May last year as its managing technical partner, with his primary brief to design this season's car, given the biggest change to the regulations in F1 history. He then took on the role of team principal in November.
Although there have been delays in the car's development, it finally took to the track in the final hour on the fourth day of the private five-day test in Barcelona, and it immediately raised eyebrows.
