Aston Martin has announced Lance Stroll will race at the Canadian Grand Prix following his unexpected withdrawal from the previous round of the F1 season.
Stroll pulled out of the Spanish Grand Prix post-qualifying at the Circuit the Barcelona-Catalunya due to hand and wrist pain.
Aston Martin highlighted it was likely due to the injuries he sustained in an early-2023 cycling accident that ruled him out of pre-season testing.
Stroll underwent another procedure to rectify the concern before entering a period of recovery.
Questions were raised over whether he would be fit enough to race at his home race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
However, Aston Martin has put the speculation to rest as it has confirmed Stroll will return to the cockpit in Canada, following what was a successful operation and some laps at Paul Ricard.
An Aston Martin statement read: "We are pleased to confirm that Lance Stroll will be back with the team competing in Montreal this weekend.
"He had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week. Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd."
After undergoing the medical procedure, Stroll is feeling much better, particularly after completing some laps, as mentioned, at the former home of the French Grand Prix.
"I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend," said Stroll. "I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd.
"I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend!"
