The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix featured the final Sprint race of the 2026 season as well round 17 of the season.

There was, therefore, a lot of action to rate the drivers on for their performances across the Marina Bay weekend, which is exactly what we've done below...

The top five

Max Verstappen - 10

Loses half a mark for his Sprint start as he lost a position, but gains it back again for his overall crushing dominance. Peaked at just the right time to take grand prix pole and once he got out of Turn 3 ahead, the race was done. Singapore finally ticked off and that Antonio Giovinazzi stat consigned to history.

Charles Leclerc - 9.5

Second to Verstappen on the Sprint grid, third in the Sprint, and second in both GP qualifying and the race itself and performed better than Hamilton in the key moments, such as Q3. Could not have done much more than he did, although could he have been more aggressive off the line to Turn 1 against Verstappen in the race? Ifs, buts, and maybes.

Liam Lawson - 9.5

An excellent performance, and perhaps his strongest of the season to date. An excellent Sprint section had him equal his best-ever F1 result with fifth before a slightly below par qualifying as Gasly got ahead on the grid, but he quickly rectified that in the race, unlocking his race at Turn 3 with a decisive move to finish seventh. Literally could not have done more.

Nico Hulkenberg - 8.5

Perhaps fortunate to score a couple of points in the Sprint, aided by Russell, Piastri, and Hadjar being removed from the equation, but kept his head to deliver seventh there before a typically wily performance in the grand prix to bank eighth. Held off Russell on faster tyres for nearly a third of the race to bank his best result of the season.

Kimi Antonelli - 8

Somehow dragged that Mercedes to fourth on the grand prix grid after upgrade and set-up problems, and ahead of both McLarens. When it mattered, and a podium was on the line, he made short work of Hamilton whilst Norris fumbled. The result? He now has his first championship point next time out at the United States GP.

The bottom five

Lando Norris - 5

Drops a few marks for the Sprint crash into his team-mate, and then apparently showed a lack of contrition in the aftermath, even hours later after grand prix qualifying, despite obviously being read the riot act. Also losses points for not immediately passing the ailing Hamilton in the race, whereas Antonelli, did.

George Russell - 4.5

Tanks his rating for being the only driver to commit a rookie error in the wet Sprint of touching a white line. Basic wet-weather racing skill went missing, despite his claims of a spike in battery. Recovered to ninth from 19th, but surely in a Mercedes, he could have passed Hulkenberg's Audi, and not finish 1.3s behind it?

Lance Stroll - 4

The only real metric with which it is possible to rate Stroll is both qualifying sessions, where he was around seven-tenths slower than Alonso in the sister car on a weekend the Honda unit struggled with drivability. Should shoulder most of the blame for his Sprint elimination as he turned in on Perez as if the Cadillac wasn't there.

Gabriel Bortoleto - 4

A tough weekend for the Brazilian overall, who was harmlessly caught up in the Sprint chain-reaction crash and then lasted a handful of laps before the gearbox cried enough. File this one under 'a learning weekend.'

Valtteri Bottas - 3

Was a tenth slower than Perez in Sprint Qualifying, before this ballooned to eight-tenths for the grand prix. In it, he was having to manage and do lift and coast to protect the brakes, but at one point, was a minute behind Stroll's Aston Martin on merit. Eventually finished 19th, three laps down, even behind Albon who retired on Lap 59 but was classified 18th. Sort of summed it up.
