Pascal Wehrlein secured pole position for the São Paulo E-Prix, marking a perfect start to his title defence.
The Porsche driver defeated Oliver Rowland in the final, with his lap time having been 0.099s faster than the Nissan driver's.
Jake Dennis and DS Penske's new signing Maximilian Günther form the second row, whilst Antonio Felix da Costa starts in fifth.
Mitch Evans will start last after failing to set a lap time, with the New Zealander having caused a red flag after stopping on the circuit.
