George Russell stormed to victory under the lights at the Singapore Grand Prix, taking the chequered flag over five seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.
Lando Norris rounded out the podium positions at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, having started from fifth on the grid.
The Briton capitalised on a strong launch to get past Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri, who crossed the line in fourth place, on the first lap of the gruelling 62-lap grand prix.
The usual harmony at McLaren erupted into tension in the early stages, with Piastri furious at being barged by his team-mate in the opening corners.
Unbeknownst to the Australian, Norris had clipped Verstappen, which damaged his front wing and pushed him into the other MCL39.
Having taken track position, Norris later declined to let Piastri pit first, seemingly having learned from his misfortune at Monza. It was evidently the right call, with the championship leader suffering a slow stop.
Whether those events fracture the civility at McLaren and erode the good-naturedness of papaya rules remains to be seen.
However, by claiming at least 13 points, the Woking-based squad wrapped up its second consecutive constructors' championship, the first back-to-back titles it has taken since 1991 — and something that could further change the complexion of the drivers' fight as the gloves look increasingly likely to come off.
