Oscar Piastri secured a shock victory in the Qatar sprint, held at the Lusail International Circuit.
The Australian driver led a crucial McLaren one-two, having survived constant pressure from George Russell in third.
Lando Norris had led the entire sprint, but gave Piastri the lead just metres before the finish line.
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz claimed fourth, ahead of team-mate Charles Leclerc in fifth. It means McLaren have a great chance of sealing the title on Sunday.
Lewis Hamilton had to settle for sixth, whilst Nico Hulkenberg and Max Verstappen completed the sprint race point positions. Sergio Perez finished in last.
