Fernando Alonso topped the timesheets in second practice ahead of the 2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix, in what was another mixed session.
A true reading of the entire pecking order was not on display, with the session having begun on a dry circuit whilst rain started to fall.
Because of this, all drivers quickly switched to the intermediate compound. Alonso's 1:15.810 was enough to top the session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, ahead of George Russell.
Home boy Lance Stroll was almost seven tenths adrift in third, whilst Charles Leclerc and Daniel Ricciardo completed the top five.
Max Verstappen sat out the bulk of the second half of the session, following an issue with his ERS.
