George Russell has taken pole position for the British Grand Prix, leading a Mercedes 1-2 at the Silverstone Circuit.
Team-mate Lewis Hamilton was 0.171s down on Russell but secured an 11th front row start at his home race.
Lando Norris was third, clinging on to the spot after abandoning his final push lap to finish ahead of championship leader Max Verstappen in fourth.
Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc endured difficult qualifying sessions, dropping out in Q1 and Q2 respectively.
