Max Verstappen completed a Friday Formula 1 practice clean sweep by topping the qualifying simulations for the Spanish Grand Prix.
The reigning World Champion had set an ominous benchmark in the opening practice session, but his advantage was whittled down to 0.170s, with Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso the closest challenger in P2 on his home circuit.
Nico Hulkenberg was a surprise P3 for the Haas team, ahead of the second Red Bull of Sergio Perez, who was three tenths of a second away from his teammate's pace.
Esteban Ocon placed his Alpine in the top five for the second consecutive session, ahead of the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Mercedes' George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished the day down in P8 and P11 respectively.
