Max Verstappen has topped the opening practice session of the Italian Grand Prix weekend, setting a 1:22.657 around the Monza track.
The reigning World Champion, who is looking to take his 10th consecutive win on Sunday, was just 0.046s ahead of Carlos Sainz in second place.
Sergio Perez was third fastest in the other Red Bull car, while Charles Leclerc was fourth for Ferrari.
The Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were fifth and eighth respectively, on the weekend that their contract extensions through 2025 were announced.
Lodged between the pair were Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and McLaren's Lando Norris.
Yuki Tsunoda and Alexander Albon rounded out the top 10, with the latter surviving a high-speed trip through the gravel at the Ascari chicane.
