Zhou gives update on F1 future

The Chinese driver's contract runs out at the end of the 2023 season.

Zhou Guanyu has provided an update on his F1 future amid talks about his contact at Alfa Romeo. The Chinese driver is under contract at the team until the end of the 2023 season, with him having scored points at two races. Alfa Romeo Team Representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi said that he wants the team to have a "win-win" scenario in the silly season market. Zhou believes that he has progressed a lot since his debut in 2022 and that the team's targets of finishing as high as seventh in the Constructors' Championship look more achievable compared to last year.

Zhou: I was more worried last year

"I mean obviously starting to talk a little bit with the team that's for sure. This time of the year is the right time to talk through it," he told media, including RacingNews365 . "Let's say this time last year, I was more worried than where I'm at right now because I feel like the team is quite happy with the lineup and with the job I was able to do. "I'm just continuing to work as I did and I think things will calm. But it takes time to figure out a bit more. "I feel reasonably happy with the scenario and also with the people I've been working with, so obviously very happy to continue for the future."
