Toto Wolff isn't shying away from the fact that Red Bull are the team to beat at the moment after Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Styrian Grand Prix. The Dutchman made it back-to-back poles for the Milton Keynes outfit - the first time that has happened since back in 2013. With Verstappen currently topping the championship, Wolff stated Mercedes need to do what they can to get the most out of their car and overturn the deficit. "We continue to stick to our principle of putting our resources into 2022, with all the consequences that can have in 2021," Wolff told RacingNews365.com and other members of the media. "But this is a long game. We are not looking at the single race or single result, but trying to optimize every single year. "Having said that, we just need to do the best with our package. And you know, it's not a secret, there is a trend. They have the faster package at the moment. Although Mercedes are currently the hunter rather than the hunted, Wolff isn't admitting defeat just yet. "We need to utilise our tools and our intelligence to understand our car, setup work, the tyres and what it needs to deploy and then we need to be faultless," Wolf added. "I believe if we can align those stars we can win the championship."
