Max Verstappen's manager has given the strongest indication yet that the Dutchman will see out his F1 career with Red Bull. Having joined the team in 2016, Verstappen has won all of his 41 Grands Prix and two World Championship titles with the drinks-backed squad, and appears likely to take a third title in 2023, such is Red Bull's dominance this year. Verstappen's status as one of the best drivers of his generation has inevitably led to rumours that rivals such as Mercedes or Ferrari might make a move for the Dutchman. But Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull through 2028, and manager Raymond Vermeulen emphasised that the 25-year-old was in no mood to switch teams any time soon. "Why would Max make a switch now in this situation? We are not interested in that," Vermeulen told FORMULA 1 magazine. "But it's a small world, everyone and everything talks to each other and we have a commitment until 2028. "And as you can see, Max is in the role of his life, driving without pressure. Everyone gets the same equipment, and everyone is free to try to beat Max."
Vermeulen not interested in managing anyone else
Vermeulen is present at almost every Grand Prix to support Verstappen, and said that the closeness of their working relationship would be impossible for him to replicate with another driver. "I am very clear about this and I will continue to work exclusively for Max," said Vermeulen. "I don't have the time or the energy for other things. "Max is like a family member, like a friend. I've known him since he was born. "I have a very different kind of relationship with him. I could never muster the energy I have for Max for someone else, and I won't do that."
