Following the departure of cryptocurrency platform Bybit at the end of last season, Red Bull has filled the gap in its sponsorship portfolio with the arrival of Gate.io.
The branding of the cryptocurrency exchange will be highly visible within the team, as its logos will adorn the cars, the suits of all team members as well as Max Verstappen's helmet - but not Liam Lawson's.
RacingNews365 understands this is mainly due to the fact that it was not yet clear who Verstappen's new team-mate would be when the ink was put onto the Gate.io contract.
After all, Lawson was only announced in mid-December. Red Bull, simply put, did not have a second helmet to offer as a blank canvas to the new sponsor.
So Verstappen's future team-mate, whoever that would be, was left out of the equation for that reason and that bit of promotion is therefore not part of the deal.
Should Gate.io eventually want to be visible on the New Zealander's helmet as well, an additional deal will probably be involved.
