Having lodged an appeal against their disqualification at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Aston Martin will appear via video conference with FIA stewards later today. Three representatives, one of whom will be Otmar Szafnauer, will appear on the call at 3pm CET to discuss the disqualification with the stewards, who disqualified the ARM21 of Sebastian Vettel after the German driver's car didn't have enough fuel in the fuel tank for the stewards to extract the required one litre for a sample, as defined in the technical regulations by Article 6.6.2. However, Aston Martin analysed their data and believed the car has more than the required sample amount, possibly in piping and ancillaries of the fuel tank, and lodged an appeal. The car was impounded by the FIA in light of the appeal, and brought to a facility to allow for dismantling of the relevant components to see whether a litre of fuel could be found. Following that investigation, the stewards will discuss the issue with the team's representatives at the hearing this afternoon, and a final verdict on Vettel's disqualification could be known by this evening.
