The weekend of 16 to 18 June 2023 will be Canada's Grand Prix weekend. Friday 16 June free practices will be held, Saturday 17 June qualifying will take place and Sunday at 19:00 (UK time) the race will start. The table below summarises the Canadian GP's timetable.

The Canadian Grand Prix has been on the calendar for a long time and thus has a rich history. The Grand Prix has seen a number of bizarre editions, of which 2011 is a record holder. Indeed, the Grand Prix of Canada, 2011 edition, is in the books as "the longest-lasting Grand Prix ever". Prolonged rain caused the race to be halted for over two hours on lap 26. By cleverly changing tyres, Jenson Button was eventually able to win the more than four-hour race from last (!) place.

Another crazy edition was that of 2000, when Jos Verstappen showed his good side. The race started dry, but when the rain fell after the 44th lap, Verstappen started to gain steam. In his Arrows Supertec, then one of the worst cars in the field, the Dutchman drove himself to a sensational fifth place after starting 13th.
