Runaway championship leader Max Verstappen lines up alongside Hamilton on the front row, with the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri continuing their good form by locking out row two.
Zhou Guanyu starts in a career-best fifth place, just ahead of Charles Leclerc in the first Ferrari.
But it was a miserable session for Hamilton's Mercedes teammate George Russell, who qualified only 18th after running into traffic on his final run.
