Round eight of the 2026 F1 world championship takes place around the Red Bull Ring, host of the Austrian Grand Prix.
Ferrari enter the weekend looking to continue its momentum, having finally ended Mercedes' win streak last time out in Barcelona.
The Italian squad was able to benefit from strong tyre management, and it's a factor that could play into its hands this weekend in Austria, where extremely hot conditions are forecast.
Europe is in the midst of a significant heatwave, and it will have an impact on the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend.
A yellow warning has been declared for the region on the opening day of action, which contains two practice sessions.
A maximum temperature of 33°C is expected on Friday, with a 7 km/h wind blowing from an easterly direction.
However, things will only get hotter as the weekend progresses, with the temperature warning upgrading from yellow to orange on Saturday and Sunday.
The second day of on-track action will see the final qualifying session before the drivers qualify for Sunday's grand prix.
The maximum temperature will increase to 35°C with the wind staying a consistent 7 km/h from the south.
On race day, drivers are likely to be subjected to the hottest conditions yet, as a 36°C temperature is forecast. In fact, some weather sources predict that it could border on 40°C during the day.
However, it is not likely to break the record of the hottest ever F1 race, which was the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2005, which recorded a temperature of 42.5°C.
