Video: What happens at an F1 factory during summer shutdown?

Everything goes quiet in the world of Formula 1 in August. Find out what goes on in the factories when no work is allowed to take place.

Formula 1 is a relentless sport with no rest as development continues every day whether it's for the current season or for 2022 when a new set of technical regulations are introduced.

But the FIA's sporting regulations dictate every team to shutdown their factory for 14 days in July or August.

Teams usually decide to do this during the summer break, so everyone can finally get a rest before the F1 circus resumes at the Belgian Grand Prix in less than a week's time.

Jump onboard with Williams' drone to take a tour through the whole facility at Grove during the F1 shutdown.
