Japanese rider Taka Nakagami and Spain's Alex Rins have been taken to hospital for check-ups after a dramatic crash on lap 1 of the Catalonian MotoGP.
After losing control of his Honda under braking for the first corner, Nakagami's helmet struck the rear tyre of Alex Rins' Suzuki as he fell from his seat, sending both riders into the gravel trap in an incident that also collected the unfortunate Francesco Bagnaia.
MotoGP reported that both Nakagami and Rins had initially been taken to the medical centre at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, before subsequently being taken to hospital for further check-ups.
