How Vettel kept busy during lockdown: I interned at a farm

While streaming was all the rage for young drivers during the first lockdown last year, Sebastian Vettel chose something completely different to keep busy. The German revealed he interned at an organic farm.

Sebastian Vettel looks to be a man of many talents with the German revealing he interned at a organic farm during the first lockdown of 2020. The German has never hidden his desire to do something different when he leaves F1, stating he would like to be trained as an engineer. His interests don't end there as he became an ambassador of Bio Bienen Apfel, a project in Austria that looks to raise awareness regarding the living environment of bees. During an event on Wednesday, Vettel explained why the topic is so dear to him, while also revealing that during the first lockdown caused by COVID-19 in 2020 he interned at an organic farm. "During the first lockdown I had a little more free time than hoped, so I thought about what I could do and what interested me," Vettel stated. "Agriculture and farming interest me. That's because as an athlete I spend a lot of time on nutrition. What can I do to eat healthier and get better performance out of your body?. "Then you start to wonder and eventually realize that not every piece of fruit or vegetables is the same. Not every apple has the same nutrients. That's why I took the opportunity to learn more about this topic and really enjoyed learning it in practice and talking to people who were working on it every day. It was certainly a very interesting time."
