Max Verstappen is edging closer to an F1 grid penalty after Red Bull elected to fit a new gearbox ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. 

Ahead of the Monza weekend, Red Bull have fitted the #1 with a new gearbox case and cassette and a new gearbox driveline, gear change components and other auxiliary parts.

Antonelli suffers major crash during F1 debut

Mercedes protege Andrea Kimi Antonelli crashed heavily out of Free Practice 1 on his F1 debut at the Italian Grand Prix.

10 minutes into the FP1 session for which he was deputising for George Russell, Antonelli, who was fourth in the times, lost control of the W15 rounding the Parabolica, spitting him broadside into the tyre barrier after flying through the gravel.

Williams explain ‘not special’ Schumacher F1 snub

Williams team principal James Vowles has explained why he opted to hand Franco Colapinto a drive for the remainder of the F1 season over Mick Schumacher.

The Grove-based squad confirmed after the Dutch Grand Prix that Logan Sargeant had been dropped from the team with immediate effect, with academy driver Colapinto taking over the seat.

Gasly and Ocon join forces with Alpine F1 protest planned

Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon have responded to the planned protests and strike action by aggrieved Renault staff at Alpine's power unit base in Viry-Châtillon.

The French squad is looking to cease production of F1 engines, with a project in motion to transition away from being a works team to a customer operation come 2026 and a new era of power unit regulations.

Marko piles pressure on Red Bull boss Horner

Helmut Marko has piled pressure on Christian Horner to turn around Red Bull's slump in F1 competitiveness, insisting "sugarcoating" will work. 

After winning seven of the first 10 races in 2024, Red Bull's form has dipped in the last five rounds, with Max Verstappen not winning any and Sergio Perez continuing to struggle for form.

Haas learn punishment after Magnussen investigation

Haas has been handed a fine by the Monza stewards for Kevin Magnussen impeding Ferrari's Carlos Sainz during FP1 for the Italian Grand Prix.

The Danish driver was travelling slowly on the racing line at the exit of the second Lesmo corner when the Spaniard approached at full speed.
