Max Verstappen has revealed the nature of his responsibility in Red Bull's emergency meeting ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Before F1 visited Suzuka, Red Bull held a series of meetings following two difficult opening races in Australia and China.
It was quickly decided Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda would swap seats, a decision Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko confirmed made Verstappen unhappy.
Although Verstappen was not involved in the discussion to determine who would be his team-mate, he went on to play a key role in talks on the disappointing performance of the RB21 and its issues.
When asked as to his role in the meetings, Verstappen told Viaplay: "To point out the things where I think we can improve.
"In the end, I'm not the specialist to solve things. I can only name what I feel in the car. And in the end, it's the other people who then have to come up with the solutions. And that takes some time."
Red Bull did make several changes to the car during the Japanese GP ahead of qualifying, which played a role in the four-time F1 champion claiming a remarkable pole position.
Verstappen went on to that into his first victory of the season, moving him just a point behind Lando Norris in the F1 drivers' title fight.
For Red Bull, Verstappen's win marked an immediate positive response to the meetings before the event, where the 27-year-old insisted he did not bang his fists against the table when asked if that was how he behaved.
"No, I'm not normally like that anyway, unless someone really pisses me off," he added.
"I don't think that's necessary either. It's just naming things constructively and working with that."
