Max Verstappen has signed a new contract keeping him in Formula 1 with Red Bull until at least the end of 2030, following months of uncertainty and speculation.
The Dutchman has been linked this year with McLaren, Mercedes and even an exit from the championship entirely, but he has opted to stick with the Milton Keynes-based operation.
Verstappen is known to not like the new power unit regulations and has grown frustrated at times this season, often speaking poorly about the RB22 to the media.
However, the four-time world champion enters what will likely be the last Dutch Grand Prix this weekend in decent form, having claimed three rostrums in the last four races.
Keeping the 28-year-old is a significant box ticked for Red Bull, with a future without Verstappen from 2027 onwards having seemed to be a real possibility.
It is also a major bonus for the championship itself, as one of the greatest drivers not only on the current grid but in the sports history is not going anywhere for now.
