Max Verstappen took a grid penalty at the Belgian Grand Prix when Red Bull opted to extend his pool of allowable power unit components.

As the Milton Keynes team has done for the past three season, it strategically chose to take its punishment at Spa-Francorchamps - a circuit it knew allowed for overtaking, and therefore, opportunities to move back through the field.

Perez given shot in the arm as bold prediction made

Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard believes embattled Red Bull driver Sergio Perez can win for the Milton Keynes team this season - if he re-captures his form, which has been left wanting of late.

Damningly, the 34-year-old is the only driver from the top four teams - and top eight in the drivers' championship - yet to reach the top step of the podium in 2024.

Verstappen warned he faces 'flat-out' fight before major F1 overhaul

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is convinced the next 18 months will be a dogfight between the leading four F1 teams before a major rules overhaul shakes up the sport.

Despite Max Verstappen having won half of the 14 completed races, seven drivers across four teams have already claimed a victory this season.

Wolff not 'pushing' for Antonelli to replace Sargeant - Williams

Williams team principal James Vowles has provided an update on the likelihood that Mercedes protégé Andrea Kimi Antonelli will replace Logan Sargeant towards the end of the F1 season.

Outgoing Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz will take over from the American in 2025, but there remains speculation Sargeant will struggle to see out the year.

Red Bull chief explains 'simple conclusion' in avoiding exit

Red Bull chief engineer Paul Monaghan has conceded in a joint interview involving RacingNews365, that it was a "simple conclusion" to remain with a team that has now lost two of its major players this season.

F1 was stunned when Red Bull announced on May 1 that Adrian Newey would be leaving the team in early 2025 after 19 years' service. At the time, there were rumours sporting director Jonathan Wheatley was seeking a move away, potentially becoming a team principal.

Despite its recent troubles, Red Bull has claimed victory in seven of the opening 14 rounds of the 2024 F1 season.
