Max Verstappen stands on the brink of winning his fourth F1 drivers' title, holding a comfortable 62-point lead over Lando Norris with just three rounds to run.
If he does secure the crown, as expected, he will also become one of six drivers with at least four championships and one of just five in the history of the series to win four consecutively.
In doing so, he will join: Juan Manuel Fangio (1954-57); Michael Schumacher (2000-04); Sebastian Vettel (2010-13); and Lewis Hamilton (2017-20).
Alain Prost also has four titles to his name, but only two were won back-to-back, in 1985 and '86, respectively.
However, where Verstappen might claim the championship, and equal Vettel's Red Bull record, has yet to be determined.
In a recent poll conducted by RacingNews365, a comfortable plurality of F1 fans confirmed they believe the Dutchman will sew things up at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, although the option fell short of an absolute majority.
Over 40% of respondents feel the 27-year-old will wrap up the championship in Qatar, in either the sprint or the grand prix, whilst 6.23% of voters are still backing Norris to do the improbable.
