Valtteri Bottas has begun his journey from Malaysia to Singapore on a bicycle, sharing the start of the ride on Instagram on Sunday night, hours after finishing last at the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.
The Cadillac driver's Strava account showed he covered 56.6 kilometres from the circuit to Port Dickson, taking two hours and eight minutes to complete the leg.
It marks an unconventional way to get from race-to-race with Singapore following Malaysia directly on the 2026 calendar and the Marina Bay Street Circuit hosting round 17 this coming weekend.
Bottas is known as one of the paddock's most committed cyclists away from the cockpit.
The Finn has co-founded gravel races including FNLD GRVL in his home country and RADL GRVL in Australia, and this year qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships through top-five age-category finishes in the UCI Gravel World Series.
His relationship with cycling extends to his personal life too, as he is dating Tiffany Cromwell, the Australian professional road and gravel rider.
The switch from Sepang to Marina Bay is itself one of the more demanding transitions on the calendar.
Freight for the two events must clear customs and cross the Malaysia-Singapore border within a tight window, while teams and drivers face a swift adjustment from daytime running in Malaysia to Singapore's night race, held under floodlights.
