Kimi Antonelli and Alex Albon are both set to start Sunday's Italian Grand Prix from the back of the field after taking on new power unit components.
Mercedes' decision to fit Antonelli with a new engine at his home event was made some time ago, with Monza targeted due to its extensive overtaking opportunities compared to other tracks.
It has significantly dented his chances of taking victory this weekend as he looks to protect his championship advantage.
However, his recovery drive through the pack will be aided by a new internal combustion engine (ICE), energy store and control electronics.
The same components have also been taken on by Alex Albon at Williams, who will also be demoted from wherever he qualifies.
A number of other drivers have also taken on new components for the weekend, however all are within the penalty-free quota.
This includes nine other drivers who have been fitted with a new ICE for the event.
While Antonelli and Albon are the only drivers who have had pending grid drops confirmed so far, more may opt to follow suit after qualifying on Saturday.
