McLaren's driver line-up of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri is one of the most talented, and intriguing, in F1.

Since the Australian made his debut for the team in 2023, as the more experienced driver - and a highly-touted young driver himself - Norris had held the advantage, despite Piastri pipping the 24-year-old to a first win in F1 in the Qatar sprint.

Both drivers have taken their maiden grand prix victories this term, becoming the first team-mates to do so in the same season since Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya achieved the feat in 2001.

Last year, Norris scored 205 points to Piastri's 97. However, in 2024, the duo has been much more even.

The latter started the season more slowly than the Briton. After the opening seven rounds, Norris had scored 101 points, whilst Piastri had accumulated just 53.

However, in the subsequent seven rounds up to the summer break, Norris was outscored by the 23-year-old 98 points to 114. And it appears F1 fans have sat up and taken notice, responding in kind.

In recent poll conducted by RacingNews365, less than 24% of 1,122 respondents felt that Norris still held an edge over Piastri.

Further still, approaching half of all voters judge the Australian to now be the stronger of the two.

With 10 rounds still to go in the 2024 F1 season, and McLaren chasing the constructors' title, it will be fascinating to see how the Woking squad's team-mate battle develops.
