Max Verstappen will lead the Formula 1 field to green for the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, having claimed a first Jeddah pole.
In what was looking like a tight qualifying session, Verstappen stepped up a gear in Q3, grabbing his 34th career pole by 0.319s from Charles Leclerc of Ferrari with team-mate Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso less than a tenth behind the Monegasque.
Lewis Hamilton is eighth on the grid as Ferrari debutant Oliver Bearman starts his first Grand Prix from 11th, having failed to knock Hamilton out in Q2 by just 0.036s.
