Max Verstappen will start the 2024 F1 Austrian Grand Prix sprint race from pole after denying Lando Norris with a last-gasp attempt.
Norris was on provisional pole with a 1:04.779 but with the final lap of SQ3, Verstappen pumped in a 1:04.686 for his second sprint pole of the season - after Miami.
Oscar Piastri was third with Lewis Hamilton sixth as Charles Leclerc hit a problem in the pit-lane of SQ3, grinding to a halt.
He did get out on track to try and complete a hot-lap, but missed the chequered flag, thus failing to set a lap-time and will start tomorrow's race in 10th.
On Saturday morning, there was one late change to the grid as Alex Albon broke parc ferme conditions and was made to start from the pit-lane from his 19th on the grid.
It promotes Zhou Guanyu from 20th to 19th.
NOTE: The grid remains provisional until officially confirmed by the FIA.
