Sergio Perez has been heavily linked with a move to Ferrari's World Endurance Championship programme.

It was announced on Tuesday that after four seasons with Red Bull, Perez would be leaving the team after the two sides reached a mutual agreement over his contract. Perez signed a new one-plus-one deal in early June that guaranteed him a drive for at least 2025.

However, the Mexican's abysmal form for the majority of last season - scoring a paltry 49 points in the final 18 grands prix and finishing 285 adrift of team-mate Max Verstappen - forced the hand of team principal Christian Horner and advisor Helmut Marko.

It has not taken long for the rumour mill to start turning, though, with several Spanish publications reporting Perez is in advanced talks with Ferrari over a WEC seat.

Ferrari had previously announced its factory line-up that won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2023 and 2024 would remain unchanged.

However, a vacancy did then appear with its #83 entry when Robert Shwartzman announced he was leaving for IndyCar. The seat, though, was swiftly filled by Phil Hanson.

Despite this, that has not stopped speculation that Perez would sign with Ferrari.

RacingNews365, however, understands this is not going to be the case and that the rumours should be considered speculation.
