Liam Lawson has brutally been given the axe by Red Bull after just two grands prix - but should he have ever been promoted in the first place?
With 11 races to his name, and never having started an F1 season, Lawson was handed the drive alongside Max Verstappen after Sergio Perez's contract was paid up. It was claimed by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner that Lawson had greater potential than Yuki Tsunoda.
But following horrendous weekends in Australia and China, at tracks he had never driven on before, the axe has been swung before the Japanese GP, with Tsunoda finally getting the promotion he had long craved.
But should Lawson have ever been promoted? That is the subject of the latest RacingNews365 poll, in which you can vote below!
