It has been a brutal start to the new F1 season for Fernando Alonso and everyone associated with Aston Martin.
The hopes and aspirations under the new regulations after joining forces with power unit supplier Honda have been blown apart in a matter of weeks.
The Japanese manufacturer's PU issues have resulted in Alonso suffering his worst start to a campaign in his 23rd season in F1, with two retirements in Australia and China, followed by an 18th-place finish in the last race in Japan.
Alonso's bid to secure an elusive 33rd grand prix victory, with his previous win now 13 years ago, seems further away than ever for the two-time champion.
There is no doubt, that at the age of 44, Alonso has lost none of his speed and talent, and you have to believe that in a far more competitive car, he would be producing performances and results worthy of his experience.
You have to bear in mind, however, that the Spanish driver has recently become a father, and he may feel that with the advance of time, he should devote his energy away from the race track.
So if Aston Martin fails to force its way back into the fray this campaign, should Alonso finally call it a day? That is the question we are posing in our latest RacingNews365 poll.
So have your say in the poll below, and make sure you leave a considered comment as we will give you a mention when we write the results follow-up.
