Should F1 ditch the fastest lap bonus point after Singapore controversy?

The latest RacingNews365 poll is focused on the fastest lap bonus point.

Daniel Ricciardo's fastest lap in Singapore proved somewhat controversial after snatching the bonus point away from Lando Norris.

Norris was all set for the first grand chelem of his F1 career, but Ricciardo denied him the fastest lap, and also the extra point it would have brought.

It meant instead of a 51-point gap to Max Verstappen in the F1 drivers' championship, Norris faces a 52 point deficit over the final six rounds, including three sprints.

He must take 8.6 points on average out of Verstappen every race, with the reigning world champion now able to finish second in every race to Norris and still win the title because of Norris losing the extra point.

Ricciardo himself did not gain what would have been the final point of his F1 career, as the rules dictate that a driver must be within the top 10 at the end of the race to earn the extra prize - Ricciardo was 18th.

Since it was introduced in 2019, some have called for the extra point to be abolished - but we want to know what you think.
