Sergio Perez has called on Cadillac to improve its reliability after suffering a spate of retirements at recent grands prix.
The grid's newest team has endured a challenging welcome period to F1 as it gets up to speed with the competitive nature.
While it was expected the team would need time to adjust and get its operations running smoothly, the Cadillac challenger has faced various reliability concerns of late.
Across the last seven grands prix, both cars have reached the finish on just one occasion.
It suffered a double-DNF last time out in Hungary, with Perez's concern coming from a broken suspension.
Detailing the issue, the Mexican driver told media including RacingNews365: “It's something internal.
“I mean, we don't know, but it seems to be something internal.”
It did not mark the first time this year that Perez has suffered suspension problems, as he also retired from the races in Canada and Belgium with similar issues.
With the sport now entering the summer break, Perez is hopeful the team will use the period to find answers to the concerns it is facing.
“Obviously being a new team, you kind of expect all these issues,” he said.
“It's a little frustrating that it has happened very often.
“I'm sure that we will use this break to make sure we are able to clean and to improve all areas in different departments.
“It's really important how we are able to progress the second half of the season.”
