Sargeant learning how to not let busy F1 schedule become 'mentally draining'

The American driver has admitted that he is still getting to grips with the lifestyle of being a Formula 1 driver.

Logan Sargeant had admitted that he is still getting to grips with the intense Formula 1 lifestyle after his first six races. The Williams driver says he had needed to adjust in order to stop it becoming "mentally draining" on him, due to the amount of commitments in his busy schedule. "It's a busy schedule, a lot of marketing, a lot of media, a lot of commitments, a lot of time on the sim. So you don't get much time to yourself," he told the Beyond the Grid podcast. "I'm learning how to do all that, and not let it mentally drain me as much. Also to have time to hang out with some friends and go play golf on the weekend." The American has yet to score a point out of the first few races, but has showed that he can match teammate Alex Albon in qualifying sessions. Sargeant says he needed to adjust his mentality going into F1 races, given that Williams has yet to get into a position where it can regularly challenge for wins and podiums. "The adjustment is more in - at least for me this year - understanding you're not in a car that can win. So it's all about building yourself and helping push the team forward," he said.

Sargeant: Really cool to have home support at Miami

After making his debut in front of his home crowd at the Miami Grand Prix in May, Sargeant was happy to receive the support given F1's popularity in the country. He added: "It was really cool to have that support, the fans chanting 'USA' in the stands. "Even the parade lap in Miami was was super, super cool."
