Carlos Sainz has confirmed that "a solid plan" is in place to ensure his debut with Williams runs as smoothly as possible.
Sainz was one of the high-profile movers of last season, joining Williams from Ferrari following a concerted effort from team boss James Vowles to sign the Spanish driver.
That was after Sainz had been forced onto the market after the Scuderia announced the sensational capture of seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Sainz was at least allowed to get to know those he will be working with at Williams this season when he took part in the end-of-season test at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit two days after the curtain had come down on the 2024 campaign.
Sainz and Williams are now ramping up to the new season, which will start in earnest on February 14 when the team unveils its FW47 challenger at Silverstone, two weeks ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain.
"It’s an important time for the team and we are all going to push to bring Williams back to the front of the grid as soon as possible," said Sainz.
"I was very impressed with the team back in Abu Dhabi. After a long year, it was great to watch the motivation and effort that everyone put in at such an important test.
"Thanks to that, we’ve been able to put together a solid plan, and we have already started working on it to make sure we are as prepared as possible ahead of the pre-season test and first race [in Australia in mid-March].
"We're not far away from the Silverstone car launch, and I can’t wait to see my new ride! 2025 will be an exciting year and we are fully committed to putting together a strong season. VAMOS!"
Team-mate Alex Albon is also eagerly anticipating the season ahead and the possibilities on offer with such an experienced team-mate alongside him in Sainz.
"Everyone at the factory is working hard to get our car ready for the new season," said Albon.
"Launching on February 14 should be a great way to start an important year for us as a team, fighting as hard as we can with both cars from the outset this year and looking forward to opportunities ahead in 2026.
"I can’t wait to see the results of the teamwork and dedication that makes this team so special."
