George Russell has outlined he will not change his approach to racing Max Verstappen following their feud late last year.
Russell publicly criticised Verstappen last season for his aggression and labelled the four-time champion a “bully”.
The pair exchanged a war of words in the media at the final round of last year's campaign which also saw team bosses Toto Wolff and Christian Horner get involved.
Russell revealed he has not spoken to Verstappen during the winter break and as he pledged to keep his same approach to battling the Dutchman intact.
“I haven’t spoken to him, I have no concerns about him and his driving,” Russell told media including RacingNews365.
“That happened last year, I want to focus on myself.
“I felt things got out of line last year and I made it pretty clear that I’m not going to take it.
“But now it’s 2025 and I'm focused on the job, and the job is to win. I'm not going to change my approach fighting him or fighting any other drivers.
“The goal is the same. I guess we'll see when we get to Melbourne.”
Russell has shifted into a team leader role at Mercedes following the exit of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton.
The Briton is partnering rookie Kimi Antonelli who will make his race debut in Australia next month.
