Jak Crawford will continue his F1 education with Aston Martin next month as he builds up to becoming the team's reserve for 2026.

The American driver, who took part in his maiden first practice outing ahead of the recent Mexico City Grand Prix, will again replace Lance Stroll in FP1 at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Aston Martin has also confirmed that Houston-born Crawford will return to the wheel of the AMR26 a few days later for F1's young driver test at the Yas Marina Circuit

The 20-year-old will combine those runs with his F2 title tilt as he sits 19 points behind championship leader Luca Fornaroli with two rounds remaining in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Crawford said: "I’m thrilled to get back behind the wheel of the AMR25 for the second time this season.

"I’ve spent a lot of time in the simulator at the AMR Technology Campus this year, and being able to translate that work onto the track is incredibly rewarding.

"Mexico was a huge learning experience for me, and I’m looking forward to continuing that development in both the FP1 session and the young driver test."

Declaring it "fantastic" for Crawford to offered his second opportunity so soon after Mexico, team principal Andy Cowell said: "Building mileage in the car and maintaining momentum is exactly what we aim for in developing our young drivers.

"This session in Abu Dhabi will be an important step as he prepares for his new role as third driver next year, and we’re excited to continue supporting his growth."
