Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will both race for RB until at least the end of the current F1 season.
RacingNews365 understands this plan was communicated to Red Bull and RB personnel alongside the news that Sergio Perez will remain team-mate to Max Verstappen until the conclusion of the 2024 F1 season.
Tsunoda's position at RB has not been under threat, but Ricciardo's slow start to the campaign led to speculation he may be forced to make way for reserve driver Liam Lawson, who impressed whilst deputising for the Australian last season.
The planned testing of previous cars (TPC) session at Imola on Wednesday for Liam Lawson will still take place, plus the planned RB filming day.
Ricciardo confirmed to media including RacingNews365 that he will probably "turn a few laps" in the 2022 AlphaTauri alongside the reserve driver.
However, it is also understood that, whilst this will no longer be a direct head-to-head between Ricciardo and Lawson, their lap times will most likely still be compared.
This is with a view to next season, as Perez is only guaranteed safety in his Red Bull seat until the end of the current year.
