Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest time in the morning session of the second day at F1 pre-season testing. The Aussie led the way with a 1:32:215, an impressive enough time given that it was set on hard tyres. Elsewhere, Carlos Sainz has looked a tad skittish for Ferrari, going nine-tenths slower than the man who replaced him at McLaren, while Nikita Mazepin has completed the most laps so far in the Haas - with 75. Lewis Hamilton endured another turbulent testing session, after his spin brought out the red flag to temporarily halt day two. The Mercedes driver spun in the second sector, and while his W12 avoided sustaining any damage, it did become beached in the gravel trap - and was therefore unable to be driven back to the pits. Fernando Alonso was the early pacesetter of the morning, with the two-time world champion continuing Alpine's fine start to the weekend. The Spaniard last competed in F1 back in 2018, but he looked extremely comfortable from the outset today. Aston Martin ran into problems for the second day in a row, after Sebastian Vettel suffered from a gearbox issue, with severely limited his running time. Sergio Perez enjoyed a relatively low-key Red Bull debut, although he did manage to lap within 0.3 seconds of Ricciardo's fastest time. We also saw the likes of Antonio Giovinazzi, Yuki Tsunoda and Nicholas Latifi out on track this morning. Here is the final timesheet from session one.
