A superb lap in wet conditions in Montreal sees Max Verstappen line up on pole position for the third consecutive Grand Prix.
The Dutchman's best time of 1:25.858 was over a second quicker than the impressive Nico Hulkenberg, although the Haas driver will start Sunday's race from fifth after being hit with a three-place grid penalty for exceeding the speed limit during a red flag period.
Other drivers to suffer three-place grid penalties were Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll, all of whom were adjudged to have impeded other drivers during Qualifying.
Hulkenberg's penalty means Fernando Alonso will line up alongside Verstappen on the front row, with the twin Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell third and fourth.
A bad session for Charles Leclerc, Sainz and Sergio Perez sees that trio start from tenth, 11th and 12th places respectively.
The starting grid below is provisional until confirmed by F1's governing body, the FIA.
