Jan Lammers' son is an immense talent in motorsport. The junior has already notched up numerous karting victories and clinched the championship in one of the most renowned karting classes, namely the OK class. René Lammers aspires to enter Formula 1 in 2029.

The carreer of René Lammers

At a young age, René Lammers has already made impressive strides in his racing career. As the son of the famous Dutch racer Jan Lammers, he had motorsport in his blood and began karting at a very tender age.

His talent became evident swiftly, and he spent a significant portion of his youth at karting circuits, where he stood out as a promising young talent. At just 15 years old, René became the European karting champion, confirming his potential in the world of motorsport

At the age of fifteen, he had already become the European karting champion and now aimed for nothing less than the world title in the OK class. The battle took place at the Italian karting circuit Autodromo di Franciacorta, but unfortunately, he narrowly missed claiming this prestigious championship title.

While the world karting title carries significant prestige, the European karting championship is often considered even more prestigious. The European championship spans multiple weekends, emphasizing the need for consistent performances over a longer period to secure the title, in contrast to the world championship decided in a single weekend.

Lammers regrets narrowly missing the world title, and despite being crowned vice-world champion, the bitter taste of missed glory lingers. With a minimal difference of 0.184 seconds, he secured second place after falling to ninth at the start. A strong comeback race quickly propelled him to second place, but the ultimate world title remained just out of reach. Despite the disappointment, he praised his team for their determination and dedication during the intense race weekend.

René Lammers at the Ferrari Driver Academy

René was invited to participate in the Ferrari Driver Academy, where he spent several days. His future in the junior program is not yet finalized; this decision will be made at a later time. However, if René Lammers is included in the junior program, it opens the door to a promising career in Formula 4.
