Red Bull replace components amid reliability concerns

Red Bull have opted to changes parts on the cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez after minor reliability concerns.

Ahead of the season-opening Formula 1 race in Bahrain, Red Bull have elected to change engine components in both RB19 cars. Following a supreme qualifying performance, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will line up on the front row of the grid for the race in Sakhir. Between qualifying and the race, the FIA confirmed that the reigning World Champions elected to change the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) oil inlet pipes on both cars. RacingNews365 understands that Red Bull have spotted reliability issues with this particular component, and the team have already identified a 'simple' fix for the problem. RacingNews365 also understands that this issue was spotted during the Friday of pre-season testing, and that more than one design solution was trialled. The part is relatively accessible on the car, which meant the team were unconcerned by trying different designs. The Milton Keynes team will be hoping for an improved reliability showing in Sakhir, after the stuttering start to their convincing 2022 season.
