Red Bull has been forced to change Sergio Perez's power unit ahead of Italian Grand Prix qualifying. The Mexican failed to set a representative qualifying simulation time at the end of final practice at Monza having been consigned to the garage as his mechanics took the rear bodywork and entire floor off his RB19. It was later confirmed that the car had suffered an oil leak, leaving the Milton Keynes-based outfit no option other than to switch power unit - a move confirmed to RacingNews365 . But with the PU coming from its reserve pool, Perez will not be subjected to a grid penalty. The driver sitting second in the championship has not been afforded a perfect run into qualifying, however, having spun off at Alboreto [formerly the Parabolica] at the end of second practice on Friday. Whilst no confirmation was given that Perez's car would be ready for the start of Q1, it is expected he will compete in qualifying.
