Red Bull simulator driver Sébastien Buemi has revealed that he is "open" to a future entry in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The Envision Racing Formula E driver, who also competes for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the World Endurance Championship, has a stunning record not only in single-seaters but also in endurance racing, having won the 24 Hours of Le Mans on four occasions.
However, he has never raced at the Nordschleife, something Max Verstappen has focused heavily on over the past 12 months.
For Verstappen, it has all been preparation for this weekend's endurance event, with the Dutchman setting his sights on a maiden 24-hour victory.
While much of the attention has been on the Red Bull star, Buemi has insisted that the level of the entire field at the Nürburgring is exceptionally high and should not be overlooked.
The Swiss driver currently does not have the time required to prepare for a Nordschleife adventure but is keen on the idea in the future.
Asked if the Nürburgring 24 Hours interests him in the future should he have the availability, Buemi told RacingNews365 during an interview: "Yeah, maybe. We would need to be in good condition, and I would need to be able to do some proper testing.
"Obviously, you need that permit, so you need to race there beforehand [before the 24 Hours]. But yeah, if you can do it properly and you've had enough time to prepare, I'd be open to it. But I would need to be able to prepare properly because the level is very high.
"Even though there are a lot of drivers you've never heard of, they are very strong drivers there. So it's not as if you can just have one [good] driver and assume the guy is going to be flying.
"No, no, no. There are a lot of very professional drivers there, and they're not easy to beat."
