Red Bull's technical director, Pierre Waché, has explained the "massive positive" the team has found after Max Verstappen's recent resurgence.
Since the summer break, no driver has scored more points or podiums than Verstappen, who has 86 points from the 100 on offer, from two wins in Italy and Azerbaijan and a pair of seconds in Zandvoort and Singapore.
Heading to the last race in Singapore, there were questions over whether Red Bull could claim to be back in the fight, given its RB21 machine favours low downforce configurations of circuits, such as Monza and Baku, as opposed to the high levels found at Marina Bay.
There, Verstappen out-qualified and out-raced both McLarens on his way to second, with Waché explaining that the performance in Singapore on high downforce was a "massive positive" as he spoke exclusively to RacingNews365.
When asked to discuss the potential of the RB21 package at the final six races, Waché explained that: "It is difficult to say.
"But what is important is that we improve the usage and the potential of the car for the drivers.
"We were worried that on a high downforce track, [the pace] would disappear, but this is not the case; it is a massive positive for this race.
"It is also a good sign for the future races."
When questioned if the team always had a belief it could develop the tricky RB21 machine, Waché explained why the team has continued to do so, even after rivals have switched attention to 2026.
"Yes, otherwise if you don't develop the car, you will never know if it is enough, that is the main thing," he said.
"You never know that what you do and what you've found is enough to unlock what the driver needs."
