Nick Cassidy ended his time with Jaguar in perfect fashion, completing the victory double in the season-ending Formula E London E-Prix.

Cassidy took his run of wins to three in the last four races, converting pole position into a second win of the weekend at the ExCeL Centre.

Porsche clinched the teams' and manufacturers' titles with ease after world champion Oliver Rowland crashed out, whilst both McLarens retired in its last race in the series.

Mitch Evans crossed the line in second, but was demoted to fifth following a five-second time penalty. As a result, Nyck de Vries and Sebastien Buemi completed the podium.

How the race unfolded

As the lights went out for the final time this season, it was Nick Cassidy who made the best start from pole position, whilst Edoardo Mortara immediately retired at the first corner due to an issue.

In typical Formula E fashion, the season ended in chaotic but eventful fashion, with a peloton-style race having taken place at the ExCeL Centre.

Dan Ticktum, who had claimed pole but demoted to sixth following a grid penalty, was not involved in the lead carnage for long after pitting for repairs following a puncture.

Further chaos ensued on lap nine, as Nissan's Norman Nato spun McLaren's Taylor Barnard. Both resumed, but hurt Nissan's slim title hopes in both championships, due to McLaren being a customer of the Japanese manufacturer.

At a similar time, Nyck de Vries was shown a black and white flag for aggressive defending, which broke Oliver Rowland's front wing.

Rowland's race worsened on lap 16, as the Briton run deep into the first corner defending aggressively against Nico Müller. Significant contact was made as he rejoined at Turn 2, sending both drivers out of the race and ending Nissan's title hopes.

With half the race remaining, Porsche had already sealed both the teams' and manufacturers'. As the safety car period ended at the end of lap 19, Cassidy lead from de Vries, Mitch Evans, Pascal Wehrlein and Maximilian Günther, although Evans had a five-second time penalty for speeding under full course yellows.

Lap 21, Evans overtook de Vries for second. It was heartache for McLaren, as the likely departing Sam Bird joined Barnard in retiring from the race, McLaren's last in the series. The race settled down significantly.

Cassidy built a huge advantage to win his final race for Jaguar by 13.5 seconds, whilst Evans crossed the line in second but was demoted to fifth. De Vries and Buemi completed the final podium of the season.

Jake Dennis finished in fourth, whilst David Beckmann scored his first point of the season in 10th. Sixth to ninth was completed by Antonio Felix da Costa, Günther, Wehrlein and Lucas di Grassi.
